Develop Innovative Products

Dey's Product Development efforts focus on identifying and registering unique, patentable combinations of established therapeutic molecules or on developing novel modes of delivery for these agents. This approach avoids the high risk associated with standard drug discovery programs while providing an unusually high potential for success. Additionally, the patentable nature of Dey's innovative new products generates attractive profit margins and extended periods of exclusivity. An additional benefit resulting from this development strategy is Dey's impressive portfolio of both issued and pending patents.

Use State of the Art Technology

One of the key products currently in development is a new, hemi-suspension in which a soluble long acting beta agonist is combined with an insoluble corticosteroid. State of the art analytical and formulation technologies are being applied to the development of the rigorously controlled processes needed for eventual commercial manufacture of this aseptic product. The principal studies making up this development program, including manufacture of clinical supplies and registration batches, are being carried out within Dey's new GMP pilot plant equipped with isolator technology, its own form-fill-seal machine and packaging line. Analytical development for this project occurs in two state-of-art laboratories equipped with HPLC, FTIR, GC-MS, SPME, ACI, NGI, laser-light scattering particle size analyzer, Karl Fischer Titrators, HIAC Royco Particle Counter, SprayView NSP, Malvermn Spraytec RTSizer, TOC Analyze, and Polarimeter.
