Napa Chamber of Commerce Names DEY, L.P. Business of the Year
Award honors DEY's commitment to community, employees
Napa, CA, January 14, 2005 - The Napa Chamber of Commerce named DEY, L.P. its 2004 Business of the Year. The Business of the Year award honors a local business that has been exemplary in its integrity, social responsibility, and commitment to the community.
"This award is a wonderful honor for DEY," said J. Melville Engle, DEY President and Chief Executive Officer. "It is a reflection on the hard work and spirit of DEY's employees who do extraordinary things here at the company but also give of themselves to the larger community. We thank the Napa Chamber of Commerce for this award and look forward to many more productive years of partnership with Napa and the surrounding communities."
Approximately 670 of DEY's 1,020 employees work in its south Napa facility. The company, which is based in Napa, actively supports non-profit and charitable organizations both locally and nationally. DEY is involved in the Napa chapter of the American Lung Association and is a major sponsor of the Napa Valley River Festival, Napa Valley Symphony, Napa Valley Repertory Theatre, Napa Valley College, Napa Valley Community Foundation, Napa Valley Volunteer Center, and Napa Rotary. DEY recently donated $100,000 to the Napa chapter of the American Red Cross to help with relief efforts in parts of Southeast Asia that were stricken by the tsunamis.
